We actually don’t have an STD benefit–instead we have sick leave hours that accrue monthly from date of hire. These are available for employees to use at their discretion, with the ability to let the accrual grow to help offset short-term time off.

May 2, 2023 at 16:23No we have not, taking the burden off of employment insurance is important. Also, the EI reduction incentive is a benefit to employers and employees.
May 3, 2023 at 10:45We actually increased our STD not long ago. We find it helps our employees more financially as they receive a greater benefit, and there is no waiting period to obtain benefits. Also, we are able to take part in the reduced Employer EI rate because of our increased STD benefit.
